Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to ecipe’s community features, including posts, messaging, activities, and optional purchases.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the ecipe mobile application and related community services. By registering, signing in, or using ecipe, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our EULA.

2. Service Description

ecipe is a lifestyle community for marine conservation enthusiasts. Features may include user profiles, diary posts, topics, activities, teams, messaging, knowledge cards, optional VIP membership, virtual gifts, and related social interactions. Features may change as the product evolves.

3. Account Registration and Security

  • You must provide accurate information and keep credentials confidential.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Notify us promptly at ecipe0719@gmail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
  • We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or pose safety risks.

4. Content Safety and Community Standards (UGC)

ecipe hosts user-generated content. To keep the community safe and suitable for public distribution, you agree that you will not create, upload, share, or solicit content that includes:

  • Illegal activities, or content that promotes crime, violence, terrorism, or dangerous acts.
  • Hate speech, harassment, bullying, threats, or discrimination against individuals or groups.
  • Sexually explicit content, pornography, or sexual exploitation of any person.
  • Any sexualization or exploitation of minors; zero tolerance. Accounts involved will be removed and may be reported to authorities where required.
  • Graphic violence, gore, or content intended to shock or harm.
  • Defamation, impersonation, doxxing, fraud, scams, phishing, or malware distribution.
  • Spam, deceptive engagement schemes, or repetitive unsolicited commercial messages.
  • Infringement of intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties.
  • Encouragement of harming wildlife, illegal wildlife trade, poaching, or environmentally destructive acts presented as instruction.
  • Misinformation presented as verified scientific fact when it could cause public or environmental harm.

Educational, documentary, or conservation-related discussion is welcome when it is lawful, non-graphic where possible, and does not instruct users to commit harm.

5. Moderation, Reporting, and Enforcement

  • Users may report abusive content or accounts through available in-app report tools.
  • Users may block or mute other accounts to limit unwanted contact where the feature is available.
  • New posts may be held in a pending review state before public distribution.
  • We may review, remove, restrict, or refuse content that violates these Terms.
  • We may warn, suspend, or permanently disable accounts for violations, repeated abuse, or safety risks.
  • We may preserve relevant records as needed for investigation, security, or legal compliance.

6. Your Content and License

  • You retain ownership of original content you create.
  • You represent that you have all rights needed to publish that content.
  • By publishing content on ecipe, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, reproduce, and distribute that content within the service for operation and promotion of community features.
  • You may delete your own content subject to technical limitations and backup cycles.

7. Marine Observation and Outdoor Safety

Field activities such as tide pooling, beach cleanup, or coastal observation involve real-world risks. You are solely responsible for complying with local laws, protected-area rules, and personal safety practices. ecipe does not provide emergency services and is not liable for injuries or losses arising from outdoor activities.

8. Purchases, Subscriptions, and Virtual Items

  • Optional VIP subscriptions and virtual gifts are sold through Apple In-App Purchase.
  • Prices, renewals, and taxes are displayed in the App Store purchase sheet at the time of purchase.
  • Auto-renewable subscriptions renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subject to Apple’s rules.
  • Virtual gifts and membership benefits are licensed digital items with no real-world cash value and are generally non-refundable except as required by Apple or applicable law.

9. Prohibited Technical Misuse

  • No unauthorized scraping, crawling, or bulk data extraction.
  • No attempts to disrupt, overload, or reverse engineer the service except as allowed by mandatory law.
  • No bypassing access controls, rate limits, purchase systems, or safety systems.

10. Third-Party Services

The app may integrate platform services (for example Sign in with Apple or App Store billing). Your use of those services is also subject to the third party’s terms and privacy policies.

11. Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ecipe is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, except where liability cannot be excluded by law.

12. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update features or these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised Terms where permitted by law.

13. Termination

You may stop using ecipe and delete your account at any time through Settings. We may suspend or terminate access for violations of these Terms or for safety or legal reasons. See the Account Deletion Agreement for deletion details.
